The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa on 17th Street is one of Denver’s best-known landmarks and a classic choice for travelers who want history with their stay. Opened in 1892 and named for its original owner, Henry C. Brown, it has welcomed guests in downtown Denver for more than 130 years.
Designed by architect Frank Edbrooke in the Italian Renaissance style, the hotel sits on a triangular lot and is built of Colorado red granite and Arizona sandstone. Its centerpiece is an eight-story atrium lobby topped by a stained-glass skylight, one of the first atrium-style hotels ever built. The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection.
The hotel has 241 guest rooms and suites, including the Beatles Suite, which honors the band’s 1964 stay. Guests can dine at Palace Arms for fine dining, Ellyngton’s for breakfast and Sunday brunch, and Ship Tavern for pub fare and draft beer. The Churchill Bar offers cigars and bourbon, and afternoon tea is served in the lobby atrium. Amenities include a full-service spa, fitness center, free Wi-Fi, valet parking, and meeting and event space.
The Brown Palace is in the heart of downtown, a short walk from the 16th Street Mall, the Colorado State Capitol, and the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Find directions, contact details, and more about this historic Denver hotel right here on P6D.net.
