Gold’s Gym Venice on Hampton Drive is the original Gold’s Gym and one of the most famous fitness spots in the world. Founded by Joe Gold in 1965, this Venice, California, gym grew from a single local location into a global brand, and it is still known today as the “Mecca of Bodybuilding.”
Just a few blocks from Venice Beach, the gym became legendary during bodybuilding’s golden era, when champions such as Arnold Schwarzenegger trained here. Today it draws everyone from serious lifters and athletes to locals and visitors who want to work out where modern gym culture took shape. The gym celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2025.
Inside, members will find a large selection of free weights, dumbbells and barbells, plate-loaded and resistance machines, cardio equipment such as treadmills and ellipticals, and a functional training area with kettlebells and resistance bands. There is also an outdoor workout area, locker rooms with showers, a lounge, a Pro Shop for apparel and supplements, and one-on-one personal training.
Gold’s Gym Venice is open every day from 5 AM to 11 PM. Whether you’re a longtime member or stopping by to train at a fitness landmark, find directions, contact details, and more about this iconic Los Angeles gym right here on P6D.net.
