Quapaw Baths & Spa is a historic bathhouse on Bathhouse Row in downtown Hot Springs, Arkansas, inside Hot Springs National Park. Built in 1922, the Spanish Colonial Revival building is easy to spot thanks to its long arched facade and the colorful tiled dome above the entrance. Today it is one of only two bathhouses on the row where visitors can still soak in the area’s famous naturally heated thermal spring water.
The highlight is the set of public thermal mineral pools, filled with water that rises from the hot springs beneath the mountain. Under the historic dome, guests can move between pools of different temperatures, relax on lounge chairs and enjoy the same healing-waters tradition that made Hot Springs a famous spa town more than a century ago. For more privacy, the spa offers private mineral baths for individuals and couples.
Beyond the pools, Quapaw offers a full menu of spa services, including massages, facials, a blowout bar and a thermal springs head spa. There is also a small café for a light bite and a boutique with bath and wellness products, making it easy to spend a relaxing afternoon on Central Avenue.
Good to know: Quapaw Baths is open Wednesday through Monday and closed on Tuesdays and some major holidays. Spa services are for guests 14 and older, and guests ages 14 to 18 must be with an adult. Reservations are required for spa treatments and private baths, and booking a few weeks ahead is recommended, especially on weekends. Bring a swimsuit for the public pools, and allow time to stroll the rest of Bathhouse Row and the Grand Promenade nearby.
Parking is available along Central Avenue, at the nearby parking garage and around the visitor center, all within a short walk. Check the website for current hours, pool admission and spa pricing before you go.
